Safety Guidelines for large PNG Customer

	Meter regulator / MRS / main isolation valve should be installed in open earlier to accessible protected from physical damage.
	Piping from MRS should be as per standards / Guidelines issued by the company and hydro tested before taking into use.
	Flange joints should not be used inside the building in the piping.
	Gas is odorized and smells like LPG. However at bigger installations as hotels restaurant Gas detectors should be considered.

Incase of Gas leak In your Home/Building

	Put off all flames/Heating appliances.
	Close the Gas supply by closing appliance valve/ regulator valve.
	Open all doors and windows.
	Do not operate electrical switches.

In your locality :

	Put off any flame near by.
	Inform IGL at 1600112535.
	Keep the public at large till IGL personnel arrives.
	Help us to serve you better.

Incase of Fire :

	Close the appliances/Regulator Valve to stop Supply.
	Inform IGL at 16002535 and Fire 101
	Use Fire Extinguishers to Extinguish the Fire, if availably or throw sand.
	Keep the people away till IGL/ Fire Brigade arrives.

Pipeline Safety :

The steel and PE Pipelines are laid as per national/International standards with inbuilt and operational safety features. The Safety features are as given below.

Steel Pipeline :

	3 layer coating over the pipeline.
	Laid 1 meter below Ground level.
	Warning tape with emergency contact nos. laid above 250mm of Pipeline.
	Above ground Pipelines Markers with contact nos. installed.
	Round the clock Pipeline patrolling.
	Auto operated isolation valves every 2.5 Kms.

PE :

	Lay 1 meter below ground level.
	Warning tape with emergency contact nos. laid above 250mm of Pipeline.
	Above ground Pipelines markers with emergency contact nos. installed.
	Round the clock Pipeline patrolling.
	Isolation valve every 2 kms or at branch of 63mm size pipeline.
