HOW TO DETECT GAS LEAKAGE

The PNG pipeline joints for any leakage are checked by soup solution or gas detectors only

Common signs of a gas leak include:

 

A SMELL Odor of rotten eggs. The nose knows.
B LISTEN FOR An unusual hissing or blowing noise from a gas appliance, the ground or exposed gas piping.
C LOOK FOR Flames near exposed piping or coming from the ground. Appliance flames that are behaving in an unusual way
    Constant and localized blowing of dirt, dust or debris
    Damaged connections to gas appliances
    Rapid bubbling at the surface of a body of water such as a puddle
    Exposed pipeline after an earthquake, fire, flood or other disaster.
    Unusual brown, dying or dead vegetation in otherwise moist areas over or near pipeline areas as well as unusual soil movement
D WATCH FOR A sudden and unexplained increase in gas consumption.
